Buying a mini PC turned out to be one of my best tech decisions — compact, efficient, and surprisingly powerful. But before I pulled the trigger, there were a few things I researched that made a huge difference. Here’s what I’m glad I knew:
✅ Know Your Use Case
Don’t just buy based on specs — buy based on purpose. Whether it's for home office tasks, media streaming, gaming, or industrial applications, knowing what I needed helped narrow down my options.
✅ Check the Ports
Mini PCs vary a lot when it comes to I/O. I made sure it had enough USB ports, HDMI/DisplayPort for dual monitors, and Ethernet — which I use daily.
✅ Expandable or Not?
Some mini PCs are upgradeable, others are not. I chose one with upgradable RAM and storage for future-proofing.
✅ OS & BIOS Compatibility
Some units ship barebones or with Linux. I made sure it supported Windows 11 (or whatever OS I needed) out of the box.
